The National Service Authority (NSA) has released Personal Identification Number (PIN) codes for 6,867 qualified nurses and midwives to enable their enrollment for the 2026/2027 national service year.
According to a press release issued by the Authority on January 19, 2026, the PIN codes were generated following the submission of a list of eligible candidates by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana. The list comprises nurses and midwives who successfully passed the Council’s licensing examinations conducted between March and April 2025.
Eligible applicants are required to visit the NSA official website and access the portal to retrieve their PIN codes using their student identification numbers and dates of birth. As part of the registration process, a registration fee of GHS 41.00 is to be paid via Mobile Money across all networks before candidates can proceed with enrollment.
The enrollment exercise officially opened on January 19, 2026, and will close on January 23, 2026. The Authority has urged all prospective service personnel to complete their online registration within the stipulated period to avoid being left out of the national service placement process.
The NSA further reminded the general public that national service remains a statutory requirement under the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119). The law mandates every Ghanaian citizen aged 18 years or older who has completed an accredited tertiary institution, including universities and nursing training colleges, to undertake national service to the state.
The national service programme continues to play a critical role in strengthening Ghana’s health sector by deploying trained nurses and midwives to health facilities across the country, particularly in underserved communities.
Turning Point Foundation encourages all eligible nurses and midwives to adhere strictly to the registration timelines and official procedures to ensure a smooth and successful enrollment process.
